Our three specialist practitioners offer over 90 years of optical experience. The Contact Lens Practice was first established in 1973 and was the first practice in the UK that was devoted to fitting contact lenses.
Since the practice began it has always had strong connections with lens manufacturers. In 1974 The Contact Lens Practice was one of ten practices in the world to clinically trial the very first soft sleep in lens (Permalens) for the US Food & Drug Administration.
Over the years The Contact Lens Practice has fitted some of the most complex and complicated prescriptions. If you have ever been told that you are unsuitable for contact lenses chances are that we have a lens that's right for you.

Ortho-K (OVC) is FDA approved for safety and has been available for many years. It is practised by only a limited number of specialists because it requires advanced experience and training in rigid lens fitting plus expensive equipment to ‘map’ the shape of the corneal surface. Ortho-K OVC is an exciting alternative to glasses and laser vision corrections, a more comfortable option to daytime contact lenses.
